Built in 1740, La Maison de L’Ambassadeur is a beautiful Maison de Maître, recognised by the Mairie as one of the most important houses in Carcassonne. It acquired its unique Art Nouveau facade in 1910. Protected by the Bâtiments de France, it is an important part of the national patrimoine.

The house acquired its name from the French Ambassador to Finland, who resided there, but then gifted it to his wife in the early 20th Century.

With its generously proportioned rooms, sweeping marble staircase, towering ceilings and wrought iron balconies, you can experience the opulence of a home once used for entertaining diplomats.
